HBC probe needles in .020” diameter are an excellent, cost-efficient choice for LED probes.
Used where applications require low contact resistance or high current. Because BC is relatively soft, probe tips wear faster than other materials, but are self-cleaning. BC probes are generally used in applications where hardness requirements are less stringent.
Offers all the same characteristics of BC except for the higher contact force. HBC is very brittle and gets worse as it is hardened. There is a greater difficulty in bending without breaking and or fracturing at the knee of the bend, but APS has developed a working process to bend this material.
